What are the Best Pizza Condiments? (Dipping Sauce Edition)
Pizza. One of the most wonderful food items with an absolutely endless amount of ways to eat it. In fact, pizza toppings are often where some of the most heated discussions take place. The infamous “pineapple debate” is a classic example, while other controversial choices include anchovies, eggs, and avocado. The condiments and combinations are virtually endless and, thankfully, pizza is an endless experiment.
A person’s pizza choice can tell you a lot about them, but today we wanted to take a few of your favorite pizza condiments and match them up with the Dogtown Pizza we think suits them best. Whether you’re a traditionalist, a picky eater, or a toppings fanatic, we have a pizza and condiment combo for you at Dogtown Pizza.
A Great Pizza Debate: What are the Best Pizza Condiments? (A Dipping Sauce Discussion)
Garlic Butter
Garlic butter might just be the holy grail when it comes to pizza condiments. We don’t believe there is any living, breathing human on this planet that could taste a pizza dipped in garlic butter just once and say otherwise. Garlic butter ranks pretty high on our list because well, who doesn’t love both garlic and butter.
With red-ripened tomatoes, fragrant basil, and freshly minced garlic serving as the defining qualities of this refreshing, all-natural pizza, if you like garlic butter even a little bit, you will certainly enjoy it with our Tomato Basil Garlic Pizza. Are tomatoes not your thing? Maybe you aren’t a huge fan of basil. In that case, garlic butter is also delicious with our ooey gooey Cheese Pizza.
Marinara
Some people just can’t get enough of the red stuff and enjoy dipping their pizza in marinara sauce. We can’t hate on this one at all because marinara is delicious and compliments pretty much any slice of pizza perfectly.
If you have extra marinara laying around from that last spaghetti night, we highly suggest dipping your pizza in some of that yummy red stuff – you can thank us later!
Sriracha
If you like a little bit of heat, you know there’s just something about Sriracha that nothing else even compares to. Maybe it’s the logo, maybe it’s the colors, or maybe it’s just the bottle. Whatever the case may be, Sriracha can be put on everything when you need something to be a little extra hot and a little extra sweet.
For all you Sriracha-loving carnivores out there, add this popular sauce to our 4 Meat Pizza served with salsiccia, pepperoni, hickory-smoked bacon, and ham.
Hot Sauces
If you are a person who enjoys adding some kick to your pizza, but Sriracha just doesn’t do it for you, you can, of course, add your favorite hot sauce. Just make sure that if you are sharing with others that you only douse your own slices and not the entire pizza. Some people don’t like hot sauce – we know that seems crazy, but it is the truth.
Pesto
If you are a basil fanatic, you are already aware of this wonderful green sauce. Traditionally composed of pine nuts, garlic, olive oil, and basil, pesto adds another depth of flavor and richness to more traditional pizzas. Try it on our Tomato Basil Garlic Pizza – the combo is absolutely delicious!
BBQ Sauce
For reasons unbeknownst to us, barbecue sauce on pizza has somehow become a bit of a head-scratcher for some, but we are here to tell you that barbecue sauce tastes delicious on pizza. You can experiment and see if BBQ sauce goes well with other flavors of Dogtown Pizza, but we are going to play it safe here and say that you should try it with our Sweet BBQ Chicken Pizza for an ultimate BBQ taste.
Ranch
For as long as we can remember, ranch dressing just seems like the right fit for pizza. Sure, it tastes great on salads, too, but have you ever had it on pizza?! It has just the right amount of tangy creamy goodness and we believe that there is no shame in putting it on your pizza – no matter what your friends say.
If you like ranch on your pizza, then you will absolutely love it on our classic Pepperoni Pizza. With 35 hand-placed pieces of pepperoni, we make sure you get a mouthful of deliciousness in every single bite and ranch is the perfect complement to the slightly spicy pepperoni.
Honorable Mention: Blue Cheese
Okay, blue cheese isn’t a common choice when it comes to deciding where to dip your pizza, but you absolutely should try it with our Hot Wing Pizza. Trust us; it is a game-changer.
